Originally based in Dagenham Heathway (in the bakery they first met in!), husband and wife team Emma & Alan Barber moved their bakery – and their family – to Deal in 2002.

Al’s Bakery was founded on a few key principles: giving people high quality food at a low price, selling food made fresh on the day of purchase, and cooked in-house by our team of skilled bakers.

With over a century of experience between them, our bakers are in from midnight every night, baking away to bring fresh baked goods to the people of Deal every morning.

We’re a proudly independently-owned, family-run business, happy to serve the local community every day, whether you’re popping in for a fresh loaf, a nostalgic childhood treat, a regional specialty, or a hot savoury bake.
